Creative & Somatic Therapy

Sometimes, words only take us so far. Our emotions get processed and stored in our body, so to make lasting change, we need to creatively engage with our thoughts, emotions, and body as a collective whole.

I gently integrate creative elements into the therapeutic space, inviting you to move with me into music, breathwork, writing, and art as a means to foster deepened exploration and insight into the issues at hand.

Creativity involves breaking out of established patterns in order to look at things in a different way.

— Edward de Bono

Health and wellness relies upon a strong connection between the mind & the body. Creativity is key.

When we create - through music, movement, art, writing & role play - we strengthen our mind/body connection & gain deeper insight into our emotional worlds. This moves us into a place of increased self-awareness, growth, and healing.

 Frequently Asked Questions

+ Do I have to be an artist, musician, dancer, etc. to participate in creative arts & somatic therapy?

Absolutely not! I believe everyone is inherantly creative. Utilizing creative expression and body connection in therapy is about experiencing our emotions in an embodied way.

+ Are creative and somatic therapies as effective as traditional talk therapy?

I would argue that creative and somatic therapy is more effective than traditional therapy. Why? Our emotions are stored and processed in our bodies, not just the thoughts in our minds! Creative and body-based work helps us to connect to those deeper parts ourselves to address stuck feelings & patterns.

Let me help you get un-stuck and reprogram your nervous system to find the internal grounding and safety you need.
